Over 25,000 connections in 2024: recruitment that works

At Talentmark, we understand how crucial the right people are to ensure innovation and continuity in the Life Sciences sector. In 2024, our Operations & Maintenance team played a vital role in connecting professionals with leading companies.

In 2024, we reached over 25,000 professionals within the Life Sciences sector

So many conversations are needed to ensure that companies are provided with the right talent. We don’t stop at the first call but continue until we’ve found the perfect match. Sometimes, it takes persistence, but that’s exactly what makes our work so valuable. Thanks to these efforts, many talents found the right new opportunity, and companies strengthened their teams with the expertise they needed.

Additionally, we continued our collaboration with ViTalent – more about this later – to further develop and prepare professionals for challenging roles in Operations & Maintenance. Two successful editions of Human Ingredients: sharing knowledge and networking

One of the highlights of 2024 was the organization of two successful editions of our Human Ingredients event. These gatherings brought TA and HR professionals together to discuss important themes and share strategies that contribute to attracting and retaining talent.

Human Ingredients 2: Invest in retention, it pays off

On March 19, Human Ingredients 2 took place at Kite in Hoofddorp. Daniƫlle Raalte and Christian Hughes shared valuable insights on how companies can not only attract talent but also retain it through personal attention and meaningful conversations. A key takeaway:

Money alone is not enough. It’s about real connection.

Human Ingredients 3: On- and offboarding with a focus on Gen Z

Later that year, on October 1, we hosted the third edition at Ipsen in Hoofddorp. This time, we focused on the challenges and opportunities of onboarding and offboarding young Gen Z talent. How do you ensure their specific needs and expectations are met? This edition provided practical tools for companies looking to attract and retain Gen Z talent.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re continuing this success: Human Ingredients 4 is already planned for Leiden. This event will once again be the place to network with other HR and TA professionals and gain new knowledge. Interested in attending? Read more about Human Ingredients 4 here or sign up now!

Collaborating with schools: preparing the next generation for the Life Sciences sector

One of our key ambitions in 2024 was to strengthen our partnerships with schools and educational institutions. By working directly with students, we not only help them but also companies by building a pool of well-prepared candidates

Workshop at mboRijnland

A highlight of 2024 was the interactive workshop we held in November for second-year Laboratory Technology students at mboRijnland. During the workshop, students practiced job interviews, learned how to improve their LinkedIn profiles, and received tips to enhance their visibility to employers. One of the students said afterward:

I now know what to focus on when applying after my studies, and I feel much more confident

In addition to mboRijnland, we also collaborate with other schools such as ROC Amsterdam and Hogeschool Leiden. Through year-round workshops and training sessions, we bridge the gap between young talent and companies in the Life Sciences sector.

New office in Oss: closer to talent and innovation

In 2024, we took an important step by opening a new office at Pivot Park Oss, a leading campus for pharmaceutical innovation. With over ten years of experience in and around Oss, this was a logical step to strengthen our local presence and collaborate more closely with Life Sciences companies.

Pivot Park

Founded in 2012, Pivot Park has become a hub for pharmaceutical innovation in Europe, hosting over 60 companies and 650 highly skilled professionals. The campus is where companies come together, share knowledge, and work on new developments that make a real impact.

Earlier this year, we spoke with Brigitte Drees, CEO of Pivot Park, about the campus’s growth and future plans. In this interview, she shared her insights on the importance of pharmaceutical innovation and supporting startups in the sector. Curious about the full interview with Brigitte Drees and her vision for Pivot Park’s development? Read the blog article here.

With the opening of our office in Oss, we are now even better positioned to connect talent with leading Life Sciences companies and contribute to the development of innovative medicines. We look forward to shaping the future of the pharmaceutical industry together with the Pivot Park community.

Collaborating with ViTalent: preparing professionals for Life Sciences

Talentmark and ViTalent joined forces to train professionals for roles in the Life Sciences industry. Together, we offer the GMP Operator Training, designed for individuals looking to transition into the Life Sciences sector or enhance their existing skills.

ViTalent, based in the Science Park of the University of Antwerp in Niel, is the first training center offering hands-on, practical courses for current and future operators in the Life Sciences. With facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, and cleanroom practice areas, they replicate real-world working conditions in pharma and biotech companies.

Every quarter, a new group begins the GMP Operator Training. This collaboration between Talentmark and ViTalent strengthens the bridge between education and practice, ensuring professionals are well-prepared for challenges roles in Operations & Maintenance within the Life Sciences sector.
