Production Support Engineer – Unique Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
€55,000 – €60,000 base salary | 3-shift → 5-shift | GMP | Engineering | Cancer Treatment

Would you like to work as an engineer on a production process that currently cannot be found anywhere else in the Netherlands?
For an international organisation within the pharmaceutical industry, we are looking for a Production Support Engineer. You will join a new and technically challenging production environment focused on an innovative product for the treatment of cancer.
This is not an established production line that has been running in the same way for decades. You will work in an environment where processes, equipment and working methods are still being further developed and scaled up. This makes the position particularly interesting for someone who does not only want to solve technical issues, but also wants to understand why they occur and how the process can be improved.

// What will you be doing?
As a Production Support Engineer, you ensure that the production equipment remains reliable, safe and available. You will work directly within the production environment and act as one of the technical points of contact when issues arise.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Resolving technical issues and performing first-line troubleshooting
  • Performing and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Carrying out inspections and calibrations
  • Analysing technical issues and performing root cause analyses
  • Supporting equipment and process validation activities
  • Preparing maintenance interventions and planned production shutdowns
  • Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering to solve technical challenges
  • Improving and modifying equipment based on breakdowns, interruptions and operational experience
  • Preparing and improving technical documentation and work instructions
  • Supporting and providing technical training to operators

The activities take place both inside and outside the GMP production environment.

// What makes this position unique?
You will join at a stage where a new and unique production process is still being further developed. The process used at this location is currently unique within the Netherlands.
As a result, you will be exposed to much more than the day-to-day maintenance of production equipment. You will develop an in-depth understanding of the complete production process and have the opportunity to grow your knowledge in areas such as:
Maintenance Engineering • Reliability • Troubleshooting • GMP • Validation • Root Cause Analysis • Continuous Improvement • Process Optimisation
You will therefore not only work on the equipment, but will also increasingly contribute to how the production process is technically designed, developed and improved.

// Working in shifts
You will initially work in a 3-shift system. As production is further scaled up, the organisation will transition to a 5-shift system.
This means that not only the production environment will continue to develop, but your role will develop alongside it.

// What do you bring?

For this position, we are looking for someone with a technical background who works in a structured manner and enjoys getting to the root cause of technical problems.
Ideally, you have:

  • A completed technical Bachelor’s degree
  • Approximately 4 to 6 years of relevant experience within maintenance, engineering or a comparable technical environment
  • Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Engineering and Root Cause Analysis
  • A strong focus on safety
  • Good command of the English language
  • An interest in working within a regulated/GMP production environment

Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System is also relevant for this position.

// What’s in it for you?

  • Base salary between €55,000 and €60,000 gross per year.
  • An additional shift allowance
  • You will initially work in a 3-shift system, transitioning later to a 5-shift system, including the corresponding shift allowance
  • The opportunity to contribute to a new cancer treatment product
  • Work with a technical production process that is currently unique in the world.
  • Working in the area of Breda
  • Extensive opportunities to further develop yourself within engineering, maintenance and the production process
  • An environment where your technical input is actively used to improve equipment and processes
  • The possibility to start at short notice

// Interested?
Would you like to do more than simply keep a production line running, and instead be involved from an early stage in a new pharmaceutical production process with a direct impact on patients?
We would be happy to get in touch.

Note: To work here, you must already reside in the Netherlands and be authorized to work here. Applications from abroad will be rejected immediately.
