How the GMP Training by ViTalent and Talentmark Strengthens the Life Sciences Industry
The shortage of well-trained Operators is a growing problem in the Life Sciences industry. Without skilled personnel, quality and safety risks increase, costs rise, and companies struggle to meet strict regulations. But the impact goes beyond that: if medicines are not produced or tested on time, patients suffer, and life-saving treatments are delayed.
ViTalent and Talentmark are joining forces to help solve this issue. Through hands-on GMP training, they ensure that (new) Operators not only understand the strict industry rules and protocols but also know how to apply them in practice. In 2024, we launched a pilot to test the effectiveness of this approach. The initial results were promising: participants reported having learned a lot. Therefore, in 2025, we are expanding our training programs and rolling them out on a larger scale.
Read on to discover how ViTalent and Talentmark prepare Operators for their future roles, what this means for companies, and why investing in practical GMP training pays off.
ViTalent is the training center for the Life Sciences sector, focusing on educating job seekers, starters, and professionals. Their training programs emphasize practical experience, allowing participants to learn in an environment that closely resembles their future workplace.
Veerle Van der Linden, Director of ViTalent, sees the impact of this approach:
The training programs we offer in collaboration with Talentmark provide participants with a clear understanding of how industry companies operate, the applicable regulations and obligations, and the reasoning behind them. This ensures they start with the right knowledge and can quickly get to work.
Henrie Gielis, an Operator in Oss, took the GMP training and found that even after decades of experience, there was still much to learn:
Even with my 35 years of experience, I learned a lot from the GMP training.
The training not only refreshed his theoretical knowledge but also helped him better understand and apply certain processes in his work.
The things I learned in the course, I now encounter in my job every day. That’s why I’m glad I took the training.
This experience shows that GMP training is not just a stepping stone for new Operators but also a valuable investment for experienced professionals. By continuing to learn and staying up to date with the latest regulations and guidelines, Operators can perform their jobs even better and contribute to higher quality standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
Now that ViTalent and Talentmark have successfully trained the first groups, another twenty Operators will have the opportunity to prepare for the workplace in February and March. This not only opens up new career opportunities for participants but also offers direct benefits for companies, including:
Edwin Kamerman, Business Director at Talentmark, recognizes the increasing demand for well-trained Operators and the impact these training programs can have:
We are currently in discussions with several organizations to not only increase the inflow into Operator positions but also improve quality on the shop floor.
