Biometrics and Data Management is an important support to clinical studies. Learn all about working in Biometrics and Data Management.
Biometrics brings together experts from various disciplines for study design, in the end to analyse the results of studies. For example, as a Biostatistician will contribute to study protocols and reports that are submitted to regulatory bodies such as EMA and to scientific output, such as publications abstracts, posters and others. You can also be responsible for analysing the outcome, including its success, and for safety data.
A Data Manager is responsible for collecting data from a variety of medical research projects, such as clinical and pharmaceutical trials. They work collaboratively to make sure data is collected, managed and reported clearly, accurately, and securely.
A Data Analyst or Clinical Programmer can be separated in more type of positions. One for example more on the technical IT side of things, where they make sure reports can be generated, and at the other side that they are generated.


Biometrics and Data Management positions in pharma work at an important part of the chain of the development of new treatments. They cover a wide range of expertise surrounding the data of clinical studies. You might find yourself in a specialist role such as clinical data manager, biostatistician, data analyst or SAS programmer. This will depend on your qualifications and background.
